Introduction

This site aims to progressively develop all positive aspects of community life.  

Your  feedback and input is proactively welcomed and encouraged.

It's anticipated  the  site will dynamically change, as it reflects and moves with the  passage of time and events in the community.

The hill suburb has many places of natural beauty,interest and historical relevance,as well as being an enjoyable place to live and for tourists to visit for varied recreation.It's residents are also: progressive, interesting & diverse !

   Normandale, was named after the mother in law ( Anna Normandale) of the late  19th early 20th century New Zealand premier 1893 -1907(Richard King Dick Seddon).It's  situated in Hutt City,10kms north from New Zealand's capital city Wellington, on the bush clad Western Hills, so naturally Normandale.

It's neighbours are:Maungaraki,HarbourView,Korokoro and the Belmont regional park.It has 650 houses with a resident popuation of 2200.The Normandale settlement was established in mid December 1903.

                      Normandale Residents' Association.

 It's incorporated,run by a committee of volunteer residents.It provides a structure for residents views to positively influence the  future development of the suburb,it's relationships with Hutt City council,Greater Wellington Regional council and central Government.Membership is $10 per person currently.New members,committee volunteers are always welcome.Meetings are held once a month. A list of officers, committee members is available on request

                     Civil Defence Centre

St.Aidan's on the Hill ,corner Poto Rd and Stratton Street,is the  local designated centre in an emergency. Maungaraki  primary school  on  Dowse Drive,  is also a centre.

        Normandale Times 

This topical local newspaper is produced once a month and delivered to all households.

The previous editor was Sherril McNabb,she is now based in Shanghai China,so is our foreign correspondent.
